Returns & Refunds

Approved Technology provides a flexible returns process. In all cases, you must request an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorisation) from us before you return any items.

We are committed to maintaining an exemplary level of customer service and we respond to all online RMA requests within 24 hours. Please provide as much information as you can to enable our team to deal with your request efficiently.

Key points to our returns policy:

Faulty returns

Faulty goods will be replaced on receipt of the faulty product unless an Advance Replacement is specifically requested.

In the case of Advance Replacements, Approved Technology will invoice the replacement item and credit on return of the faulty part. This invoice will become due upon failure to return the faulty part within 30 days.

On receipt of the returned product, Approved Technology will test it to verify the fault. If following this procedure the product is found to be in good working order, we reserve the right to return the product to you.

Please provide helpful information to enable us to resolve your issue promptly (Relates to optical transceivers, DACs, AOCs, fibre cables):

  • Details/specification of the host device
  • Error messages/logs from the host device
  • Steps taken to resolve the problem, eg: did the product work in a different host device?
  • Details of the line card the optical transceiver was installed into or the cable was connected to
  • Any other checks or tests conducted

Non-faulty returns

If the product does not conform to the description, you can return the product within 7 days of receipt of goods for replacement or a full refund.

You may return incorrectly ordered unopened products within 7 days of receipt for a full refund, unless otherwise stated at point of order.

The returned goods must be unopened and in perfect resalable condition.

Approved Technology reserves the right to charge a fee or refuse delivery if the goods are not returned in the original packaging.

Order discrepancies and goods damaged in transit

Any discrepancies between your order and the goods received must be flagged within 2 days of receipt of goods.

If goods are visibly damaged on receipt, it is very important to sign for the goods as damaged on arrival with the courier and then contact us immediately on +44 (0)1202 424 518.

Returning goods

Ensure the RMA number and our full address is clearly displayed on the outside of the package:

It is the Customer's responsibility to ensure that the goods are adequately packed for shipping. Approved Technology cannot accept liability for goods damaged in transit due to insufficient packaging.

Customers are advised that goods returned should be sent via either recorded delivery, registered post or by courier, with sufficient insurance to cover the replacement value of the goods.

If a courier collection is arranged by Approved Technology on your behalf, it will be the responsibility of the customer to be available to hand over the goods in question.

Processing RMAs

Please allow up to 5 working days after receipt of the RMA for a credit note to be processed.

Approved Technology will not cover the cost of goods returned which are found not to be defective.

No goods can be accepted for return without an RMA number.

Delivery costs will only be refunded if the returned item is proved to be faulty or as a result of our error.
