WDM
Mux/Demux devices work in tandem with WDM transceivers to increase bandwidth in fibre optic networks by combining (multiplexing) and separating (demultiplexing) multiple optical signals onto a single fibre.
CWDM
Coarse WDM uses 18 channels (1270–1610nm) over a single fibre for transmission over short-to-medium distances (~80km), offering a power-efficient, cost-effective solution for metro and enterprise networks.
DWDM
Dense WDM enables 40–96+ tightly spaced channels on one fibre for long-haul, high-capacity applications, requiring advanced transceivers and amplifiers, ideal for telecom backbones and data centre interconnects.
